Last year, Bae Louie toured the country with Jarle Bernhoft. Now, they release their second single.
What hides behind the money, materialism, romance, business and cosmetics? One of many questions that has inspired the song, “She”.
After several busy years, Bae Louie is finally ready for the release of their second single, “She”. The band, that has roots all over Norway, consists of singer-songwriter Mirjam, bass player Arild, drummer Stian and piano player Marcus. The new song is written by Mirjam and is about seeking the meaning of life. A big theme we all have wondered over from time to time. Besides asking big existential questions, “She” is backed up by a laidback yet super rhythmical and funky vibe. Just like the geographical roots, genre is also a complex affair to Bae Louie. The members mention hip hop, soul and pop as the most pronounced genres, however, you can also hear both jazz and funk. In other words: Bae Louie has something for everyone!
Despite being relatively unknown, Bae Louie has done a lot in a short amount of time. The quartet has already played big festivals and stages all over the country. These include Slottsfjell and Klubb Øya, and they warmed up the crowd for Jarle Bernhoft during his Norwegian tour in 2018. Their debut song, “Wonderful”, has been played on national radiostation NRK P3. They also received great reviews at the blog “Line of Best Fit” where Mirjam’s vocals were compared to Rita Ora her selves – how cool is that? A lot is planned for 2020, so stay tuned!
