Niklas Paulsen, better known as BØLGEN, started writing songs already as a ten-year-old, but his first single was released when he was 19 years old; it was the year 2020, the world was hit with a pandemic and civilization went dormant. Niklas flourished through TikTok, where he today has over 160.000 followers and over 32 million views. He was the first Norwegian artist who made a musical breakthrough via TikTok.

His debut single “Er ikke verre” was released the summer of 2020 and received 1 million streams within five days. Only three days later, the single hit first place on Spotify, and not long after it hit second place on VG-lista. Niklas was the most streamed Norwegian artist of the summer. Most of his music has been listed on radio and Spotify lists, and he has played on live TV and many concerts. Under a year as an artist, he was nominated for the Norwegian Grammy awards (Spellemannprisen; årets gjennombrudd og Gramostipend).
